RA 3C: The sanctuary of Targa at Djangul’
|
This research activity aims at analysing the remains from a rural sanctuary at Djangul’ situated in the distant chora of Chersonesos. At Djangul’ a goddess by the name of Targa was worshipped during the last centuries BC. The finds, including inscriptions, show that she was worshipped not only by the local tribes but also by the Greek Chersoneseans, and the sanctuary is thus a valuable example of religion, cult and cultural interaction.
